Family Movie Night with Cost Plus World Market

Thanks to World Market for providing me with their products/gift cards to facilitate my review in exchange for my honest opinion.

Family movie nights are a must in my home. It allows us to spend time together without the internet and cell phones and have an overall good time! We based our movie night theme this week on the movie Sixteen Candles as we combined our movie night with my daughters 13th birthday party. We wanted an 80's themed party so this was the perfect choice.

Our main dish for the evening was homemade pizza.

This is great for feeding hungry teens and they can create it any way they like! We chose a mexican pizza. My recipe is below.

Ingredients:
1 Pastorelli Ultra Thin & Crispy Pizza Crust

Smoky Valley Smoked Ham Sausage from World Market

1 lb ground beef
1 pkg shredded cheese (mexican blend)
1 can Refried Beans
1 pkg taco seasoning
additional toppings of choice (tomatoes, green onions, black olives,  shredded lettuce)

Preheat oven to 350. Brown ground beef and add taco seasoning with about 1/2 cup of water. Set aside.

Spread a thin layer of refried beans onto crust. Slice Smoked Ham Sausage and spread over beans. Spread beef mixture and top with cheese.

Add toppings as desired. I used diced tomatoes and green onions.

Bake until cheese is melted and pizza is heated thoroughly.

The pizza was great but they enjoyed the actual "party food" the most. We picked up several items from Cost Plus World Market. We purchased the Retro Popcorn Maker and a yard of popcorn as I knew this would be a big hit with the teenagers and boy was I right! They have experimented with many different seasoned popcorn's including butter, and seasoned with chili powder! We also had a bowl of chips and dip from Cost Plus World Market that they just couldn't get enough of. (Chip and Dip Bars were very popular in the 80's) Another favorite was the Cotton Candy! I remember growing up, Cotton Candy was a must on movie night.

For another 80's kick, we made a large picture of pink lemonade and a large picture of mango punch in the drink dispensers purchased from World Market. Once the eating was over, they kicked back onto the bean bag chairs and enjoyed the classic hit Sixteen Candles featuring Molly Ringwald. With popcorn and cotton candy in hand we ended the night spending some much needed time together! It was an experience she won't soon forget!

World Market has lots of delicious gourmet foods to choose from whatever the occasion so you're sure to find just what you're looking for!
